Questions
What is robots.txt?+
robots.txt is a plain text file on your website. Crawlers read it before they read anything else. It tells them which pages they may open.
Which crawlers do you check?+
GPTBot feeds ChatGPT. ClaudeBot feeds Claude. Google-Extended feeds Gemini. PerplexityBot feeds Perplexity. We check Bingbot too, because ChatGPT live search finds pages through Bing.
What does blocked mean in this check?+
Your robots.txt has a Disallow rule that covers your whole site for that crawler. The crawler may not read your pages. The AI behind it learns about you from other sites only. Website builders and firewalls sometimes add the block without you knowing.
How do I unblock a crawler?+
Delete the Disallow line under that crawler's name in robots.txt. The fix is usually one line. The steps for each website builder are in our guide at snuup.ai/learn/does-your-website-block-chatgpt.
My site is open. Does AI recommend me now?+
Open only means AI can read your site. It does not mean AI names you in answers. The snuup check shows what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity say about your business. It gives you the fix for each problem it finds.
